The twice-weekly publication is based in Payson, a recreation and retirement community that's home to 15,000 souls who live within the largest stand of ponderosa pines in the world. The newspaper also serves Star Valley, a community that ranching built, and the quiet mountain hamlets of Pine and Strawberry at the base of the Mogollon Rim, a towering escarpment that spans most of Arizona and part of western New Mexico.
